Hurling Workshop

The ancient game of Hurling has been played in Ireland for over two thousand years and over time has evolved into the world’s fastest field sport. Ireland’s sporting culture is defined by the popularity of this game and for many visitors to our shores a chance to see a ‘game’ is never missed.

The Orchard Centre’s Hurling Workshop is a unique opportunity to learn and experience the skills associated with the sport. An experienced player of the game takes the participants through a series of exercises where all will develop their own particular style.

At the end of the workshop session the participants will have the opportunity to try their skills in a real scoring competition.

Mini Hurling Workshop

For those groups who wish to experience a short introduction to the magnificent game of Hurling, The Mini Hurling Workshop is ideal. Lasting approximately 30 minutes, guests will be introduced to the basic skills of the game and then try these out for themselves.

The Mini Hurling Workshop is most suitable to add on your one of our other activity programmes such as the Irish Olympics, for those groups who wish to gain an insight into the game.
